This weekend will mark the end of the road for many NFL hopefuls. The deadline for teams to pare their rosters down to 53 players is Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.
The rules for NFL roster cuts changed this year. The league decided to move to a single roster cut deadline, as opposed to a deadline to cut down from 90 to 75 players and another one to go from 75 to 53. Now teams can carry 90 players through the last preseason game, which gives coaching staffs more time to evaluate them.
Once cuts are final, teams can claim players who have been waived by other teams until noon on Sunday. Then, starting around 1 p.m. ET, it will be time to build practice squads. Each team can carry 10 players on the practice squad who meet the league’s eligibility requirements.
We’ll keep track of all of the cuts here as they’re announced.
